Liverpool’s Premier League title defence has not gone to plan this season, but Arne Slot’s side have a very winnable Anfield clash against struggling Nottingham Forest on Saturday. The Reds were poor when humbled by rivals Manchester City 3-0 at the Etihad before the international break, but a visit from second-bottom Forest should see them return to winning ways at the first time of asking.

Team news
Liverpool first-choice goalkeeper Alisson is in line to return after recovering from a hamstring injury, with the Brazil international set to replace Giorgi Mamardashvili. Jeremie Frimpong is closing in on a return, too, but he is more likely to be back in action next weekend against West Ham. Alexander Isak is continuing to build up his match fitness, but the Swedish striker may have to settle for a bench role again. Forest’s lengthy injury list has not eased much over the international break with Douglas Luiz, Chris Wood, Ola Aina and Callum Hudson-Odoi all still sidelined. Omari Hutchinson could return, though, and is among the players who may come in for the visitors if Sean Dyche opts to make changes.
