Super Eagles goalkeeping prospect, Adebayo Adeleye, kept another clean sheet over the weekend as Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Beitar Jerusalem 1-0 in the Toto Cup.

The former Nigerian U-17 international, who is in the form of his life, put up another sterling display to keep the opposition at bay as Hapoel Jerusalem ran out with a win.

The Toto Cup is a tournament that features clubs in the two highest divisions in Israel: the Premier League and Liga Leumit.

Adeleye has been under the watchful eyes of the Super Eagles coaching crew and scouts alike after he performed extremely well in the 2020/2021 season with 19 clean sheets to his credit as Hapoel Jerusalem gained promotion to the Israeli elite division.

The 21-year-old conceded 17 goals in all competitions last season and was adjudged as one of the shining lights of the Liga Leumit following his sterling performance between the sticks.

He has been projected to be the next big thing in the Super Eagles ‘goalkeeping department given his immense talent, discipline, and high work rate.

With Maduka Okoye and Francis Uzoho calling the shots as Super Eagle’s top-two goalkeepers, the arrival of the Hapoel Jerusalem safe hands will create a healthy rivalry among the goalkeepers.

It would be recalled that former national team goalkeeper and skipper, Vincent Enyeama, once described Adeleye as the future of the Nigeria Super Eagles.
