Wigan defender Leon Balogun has said representing Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in front of his parents is the proudest moment of his career.
Born to a Nigerian father and German mother, Balogun made his debut for Nigeria March 2014 friendly against Mexico and has gone on to become a first-team member under Gernot Rohr
Balogun was named in Nigeria’s final 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and played in every minute of the three games Nigeria played in, but it was the third group game against Argentina that stand out in the heart of the experienced defender.
Balogun revealed through his social media handle that his parents were in the stand to watch the game, a moment he will continue to relish.
