Aspiring coaches everywhere are taking their place in the dugouts as they prepare for the release of Football Manager 2022.

New editions of the popular manager simulation game are eagerly awaited every year and it is no different this time around.

Sports Interactive adds more and more features to each game edition as it becomes an increasingly detailed reproduction of the job that football’s top managers do on a daily basis.

We bring you all the information you need ahead of the game’s release.

When is the Football Manager 2022 release date?

Sports Interactive has confirmed the game will be available for purchase on November 9.

Eager fans will be able to sign up for early access, which creators expect will allow gamers to play for two weeks prior to release from October 26.

The announcement will be pleasing to fans wanting to get their hands on the game, with the 2021 version only made available in late November last year.

What is Football Manager 2022 available on?

As well as the traditional PC format, this year’s Football Manager will again be available to buy on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

After returning to the Xbox platform for the first time since 2008 last year, Sports Interactive has made even more features available this time around, with the game also on Xbox Game Pass.

Like previous years, more streamlined versions of the game are available on iOS and Android devices.

Smartphone users can download FM Mobile, while FM Touch is available for tablets and Nintendo Switch.

How much is Football Manager 2022?

Football Manager 2022 has been priced at £39.99 in the UK.

Those who want to pre-purchase the game will benefit from a 10% reduction in the full price, meaning it will cost £36.

Football Manager 2022 Xbox Edition, FM Mobile, and FM Touch will be considerably cheaper than the full version, with prices varying between £20 and £30.

What new features have been added to Football Manager 2022?

Sports Interactive have so far slowly eked out announcements on the game’s new features but their latest reveal introduced a Data Hub, a new animation engine, and match AI improvements.

Managers can use the Data Hub to see match aspects like team momentum and pass maps so they have all the information they need to make the right decisions during a game.

A completely revamped animation engine is the most authentic yet, with every touch and dribble looking as close to real-life as ever, while the AI improvements will see players make more realistic decisions on the latest game.
